About 300, 000 job opportunities in China are available for Filipinos, the government said.
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Silvestre Bello III disclosed to CNN Philippines that 300, 000 jobs for overseas Filipino workers (OFW) are open in the said country.
“There is a big demand for English teachers in China, kasi gusto yata ng mga Chinese na matutong mag-Ingles ‘yung mga anak nila,” he said, noting this demand was driven by China’s continuous economy growth.
He added the job pays up to P60, 000 or $1, 200 a month.
Aside from English teachers, China’s Labor Ministry also seeks to have musicians, nurses, cooks, household service workers, and caregivers.
Moreover, Bello warned Filipinos aiming to spot a job in China to only contact agencies aaccredited by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) to avoid illegal work schemes.
“‘Pag mayroong lumapit sa inyo na mag-apply kayo, or work abroad, dumaan muna kayo sa POEA, mayroon naman silang naka-Facebook na listahan ng mga legitimate agencies,” he said.
