The Philippine National Police (PNP) said the Oplan Tokhang remained to be bloodless since it resumed the operation on Jnauary 29.
PNP Spokesperson John Bulalacao assured the anti-illegal drug campaign would contiue to be bloodless under the PNP supervision.
Data from Directorate for Operations (DO), a total of 2, 127 Tokhang operations have been conducted across the country from January 29 to February 9, wherein 821 suspected drug personalities surrendered.
Police Regional Office 10 based in Cagayan de Oro City in Mindanao had the most number of surrenderers at 424 for the period, followed by Police Regional Office 9 in Zamboanga City with 318 surrenderers.
Last October, President Rodrigo Duterte mandated the police to stop its operations in the war on drugs amid rising criticisms on alleged illegal activities and killings.
The agency rejoined the anti-illegal drugs campaign in December 2017.
However, the schedule got delayed as PNP Chief Ronald dela Rosa disclosed that Tokhang is being used to cover some policemen’s exhortion and illegal activities.
