President Rodrigo Duterte assured Japanese conglomerates that their business or government transactions in the country would be free from bureaucratic delays, the Palace said on February 22.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque conveyed this message following the courtesy call of Japanese conglomerates for the President.
He said the meeting discussed competitiveness and macroeconomic fundamentals, infrastructure and innovation issues.
“He (Duterte) pledged his commitment to ensure that Japan projects will receive attention, free of bureaucratic delays whether government to government or business to business,” Roque said.
He added Duterte welcomed Japanese conglomerates to partner with the country’s conglomerates to promote infrastructure and trade growth.
“He supports a market drive economy and he wants his government to be fair and effective,” Roque added.
The President, Roque said, expressed gratitude to the Japanese government given the latter’s continuous support for the administration’s programs.
