The Philippine National Police (PNP) warned parents and students against extra-curricular activities reportedly organized by groups affiliated with the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA).
The PNP raised the concern following the reported participation of some university students in CPP-NPA activities including armed encounters against military forces.
“I advise these students to avoid compromising situations and possible conflict with the law while engaged in CPP-NPA activities,” PNP Spokesperson Chief Supt. John C. Bulalacao said.
Activist student organizations are known to take part in CPP-NPA indoctrination masked as social immersion training courses in hill and mountain camps during academic breaks.
