More than 12,000 job opportunities in the construction sector will be offered at the job caravan under the “Build, Build, Build” program of the Philippine government on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Silvestre Bello III said thousands of jobs available in the one-day job fair will be open for local applicants and Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
“Jobseekers, particularly workers who have returned from overseas employment as well as graduating students, are called to take advantage of the job opportunities under the job caravan,” Bello said, adding that many jobs will be available as the government boosts its infrastructure spending under the Duterte administration.
Among the jobs set to be offered are in the fields of building, construction, architecture, and engineering.
Also available are positions in the clerical and administrative; accounting and finance; computer and IT; human resources; communications and public relations; legal; sales and marketing; management and operations; research & development; customer service; security; hospitality; medical and health care; procurement and supply chain; education and training; production and quality; property and asset management; and creatives and design.
The job fair will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
Bello reminded applicants to be prepared with their application requirements, such as their resume (bring multiple copies for multiple job applications); several copies of 2×2 ID photos; photocopy of Training Certificates (if applicable); previous Certificate of Employment (if applicable); Transcript of Records; Diploma; PRC License for professional positions; Authenticated Birth Certificate; and NBI clearance.
Aside from the jobs to be offered, the job caravan will also feature the satellite on-site services of the Social Security System (SSS ID); Bureau of Internal Revenue (Tax Identification Number); National Bureau of Investigation (NBI clearance); Pag-IBIG (ID); National Statistics Office (authenticated birth certificate), for job seekers, who have yet to secure such requirements.
Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar said multiple participants from the construction sector are expected to join the event.
“We invited employers and contractors from the DPWH, Department of Transportation, and Bases Conversion and Development Authority who handle ‘Build, Build, Build’ projects. Representatives from the DOLE, the Department of Finance, Department of Budget and Management and National Economic and Development Authority will also be present,” Villar said.
