The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) on July 30, 2019, said it continues to provide services to the public despite the temporary suspension of the gaming activities of all its partner agencies as per President Rodrigo Duterte’s order.
In a statement, the PCSO reported that it has donated PHP 10 million on Monday to the Northern Cagayan District Hospital for the purchase of Mobile X-Ray and Doppler Ultrasound.
“The PCSO Extension Office in Quezon City was able to provide services to 426 individuals under its Individual Medical Assistance Program, while 186 medical and dental patients were attended to in Mandaluyong City, Quezon City, and Manila on the same day. Moreover, a total of 1,300 IMAP clients were able to get financial assistance from our PCSO Branch Offices nationwide,” it said in a statement.
Apart from responding to requests for medicine donation and conduct of medical mission, the PCSO also attended to 167 prize claimants at the PCSO Head Office on Monday.
“PCSO remains steadfast in delivering charity services to all its clients and positively accepts the challenge given by the President for all its officials and employees to step up, as it appeals to the public to continue its valuable support to the Agency,” it said.
On July 28, Duterte has ordered all gaming activities of the PCSO, including Lotto, Small Town Lottery, and Peryahan ng Bayan, to stop due to “massive corruption” on Friday night.
The President announced the order via a video post on the Presidential Communications Operations Office’s Facebook page. (PNA)
