Covid-19 cases in PH reaches 34K, 1,006 new reported infections

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,006 new infections raising the total cases to 34,073 in the Philippines on June 26, 2020.

The breakdown of new cases include 379 in the National Capital Region (NCR), 258 were in Region 7, and 369 in other areas.

274 new recoveries were reported, raising the total to 9,182.

12 deaths were reported, raising the death toll to 1,224.

DOH Director for Health Promotion and Communication Service Dr. Beverly Ho, said the relaxation of quarantine implementation in Metro Manila and other regions may have caused the rising trend in Covid-19 cases.

In the last 14 days, Ho said the highest number of cases were reported in NCR with 3,461, Region 7: 2,573, Region 4A: 405, Region 8: 234, and repatriates: 198.
